My husband and I are directly opposed to this plan because we have two children in the school and we are concerned for their safety. We searched long and hard for a good school for our kids and they have settled in nicely and are enjoying a quality education in a wholesome environment. If this application is approved, it will greatly affect our family because we will be forced to withdraw our kids from the school that we have been a part of for the last four years and planned to be a part of for years to come. Almost everyday, there is news of a sex offender abducting or abusing a child. There is a new bill in the works to prevent sex offenders from living within 2000 feet of a school or park. If the danger is enough to warrant this type of proposed legislation, why would anyone think it would be in anyone's best interest to allow a place of temporary housing to be developed directly next to a school property? It is a known fact that RV parks attract people of questionable motives and criminal activity. If this application is approved, you are putting innocent children at potential risk. I cannot imagine that anyone in your department would allow this. We respectfully implore you to consider the students at Mokelumne River School, as well as the families who would be adversely affected by this development.
