Woodson Rd.,Acampo, CA. 95220
Situs Address: same
SUMMARY
The four proposed lots were tested to ascertain the ability of the soil to adequately support a
residential on-site septic system. All lots are proposed residential sites. On April 3,2003 a truck
mounted auger drilled 3 holes on each lot. The first hole drilled was to 25'to determine a soil
profile and to observe any water entering the hole. The soil profile may indicate a percoble layer.
A 36"-42" shallow hole was then drilled. The third hole was to the percoble layer, in this case a
sand layer. A total of 12 holes were prepared for testing. See Percolation Testing. The testing
procedure conforms to the Environmental Health Department,Policy for Percolation Test
Procedure, Policy Number 02-02,dated April 25,2002.
PERCOLATION TESTING
A Liquid Waste Permit was obtained for four percolation tests_ SR 32587,dated 1/29/03. The soil
profile indicated a sand layer existed at approximately 8 feet down and was approximately 8 feet
thick. Water was placed in the holes on April 10,2003. The 4 how test period began on April 11,
2003. Water remained in all the shallow holes and 25'holes. All holes to the sand layer were dry.
Because there were 12 holes to start with,Mr. Walt Curtis,a Civil Engineer, performed the
testing on Parcels 1 and 4, and Earnest Smith performed the testing on Parcels 2 and 3. Mr. Mike
Escotto, EHS, was present for the required readings. The test holes to the sand layer passed and
require 6,000 SF septic leach field area. All other holes failed. Because of time constraints it was
not possible to remain for 10 minutes at any hole to determine if it would be a rapid perc, as each
individual was monitoring 3 holes on each of two loots and the lots separated by several hundred
feet.
EXISTING WATER CONDITIONS
Maps furnished by the Flood Control and Water Conservation District, Spring 1999,indicate a
depth of 60'to static water. The USGS Map, Lodi North Quadrangle shows an intermittent
drainage channel about 600' westerly of the site
