' 4640 E.Woodward Avenue
Addendum to Revised Soil Suitability and Nitrate Loading Study
Prepared by Kleinfelder,Inc. July 13,2006
gravel. The holes were observed to be in sandy soils, with rapid movement of water out of
the boreholes.
After the pre-soaking was complete, a request was made to SJC EHD to observe the final
' thirty minutes of the Percolation Test which was to be performed the next day.
On June 8, 2011, GTI staff mobilized on site and performed the percolation test. No water
' was observed to remain in either borehole from the pre-soaking, so Procedure #3 was
implemented. The results of the one-hour percolation test were recorded on SIC EHD
Percolation Test Rate form which is included in Appendix A). The percolation rate for each
' test hole was rounded up to the nearest minute, and was found to be approximately 3 minutes
per inch.
4.0 PROPOSED USE
' The 4640 E. Woodward Avenue site consists of a 5.83 acre-parcel, with a single family
residence and game room constructed in the north east portion of the site. A paved parking
' area has been constructed west of the residence and game room, and a storm drainage area is
located west of the parking area. A septic system consisting of two septic tanks and a leach
field has been constructed south of the game room. Please refer to Figure 3 for a site plan
' prepared by Edmond Jacobs Architect.
It is GTI's understanding that the site owners wish to change the use of the game room to
religious assembly. Mr. Birinder Singh has indicated that the proposed religious assembly
would consist of approximately 80 people over the course of a typical Saturday, 150 people
over the course of a typical Sunday, but not more than 50 people at any one time on either
day. From Monday to Friday, 6 or 7 people are expected to be present.
' Based on this information, it is assumed that the temple (with use of a kitchen) will have a
maximum seating capacity of 50 people which will be used two days per week, up to 10
people 5 days per week, and residential use. According to the San Joaquin County Onsite
Wastewater Disposal Standards page 13 (see Appendix A), churches with a kitchen are
estimated to use 10-gallons/seat per person per day.
For the purpose of nitrate loading calculations, the average waste/sewage flow per week for
the site is estimated to be:
' (50 person seating capacity x 10 gal x 2 days) + (10 persons x 10 gal x 5 days)
person person
300 gal
' + ( da for residence x 7 days)
Y
= 3,600 gallons per week
' GeotogicalreclmicsInc. 3
16232 Nitrate Loading Addendum.docx
