Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Dear Ms. Heran:
Re: California Tank Lines, Inc.
This will confirm our telephone conversation of July 13, 1989,
California Tank Lines, Inc. (Cal Tank) does not generate hazardous waste in
normal operations. In 1987, Cal Tank experienced a spill at their Stockton
terminal which generated several tons of hazardous waste, both solid and
liquid. This was clearly an accident which the company is determined will
not happen again.
You indicated that under these circumstances Cal Tank is not expected to
pay the permit fee billed on the statement dated July 1, 1989. You did
indicate that waste motor oil is considered a hazardous waste subject to
generator fees if the quantity disposed of in any manner other than recycle
exceeds 5 tons per year.
California Tank Lines, Inc. will ignore the July 1, 1989 statement unless you
indicate otherwise.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Sincerely,
G. W. Roy, P. E.
Consultant
c. c. R. A. Ellis, Jr.
