Survival of aquatic organisms in 96-hour bioassays of undiluted waste shall be no less <br /> than: <br /> Minimum for any one bioassay- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 70% <br /> Median for any three or more consecutive bioassays - - - - 90% <br /> 9. Wastewater shall be oxidized, coagulated, and filtered, or equivalent treatment provided, <br /> by 1 May 2004. <br /> C. Pond Specifications: <br /> 1. Objectionable odors originating at this facility shall not be perceivable beyond the limits <br /> of the disposal areas or property owned by the Discharger. <br /> 2. As a means of discerning compliance with Pond Specification No. 1, the dissolved <br /> oxygen content in the upper zone (1-foot) of wastewater in ponds shall not be less than <br /> 1.0 mg/l. <br /> 3. The ponds shall be designed, constructed, operated, and maintained to prevent <br /> inundation, overflows or washout due to floods with a 100-year return frequency. <br /> 4. Each pond shall not have an average pH less than 6.5 or greater than 9.0. <br /> 5. Ponds shall be managed to prevent breeding of mosquitoes. To prevent mosquito <br /> breeding, management measures, such as the following, shall be implemented, <br /> a. An erosion control program should assure that small coves and irregularities <br /> are not created around the perimeter of the water surface. <br /> b. Weeds shall be minimized. <br /> C. Dead algae, vegetation, and debris shall not accumulate on the water surface. <br />
