Mr. George Lockwood
September 7, 2004
Page 8
10. The City's reclamation activities do not appear to have impacted the water
quality to the southwest of City property.
11. Based on the groundwater gradient, some water is flowing to the south.
However, nitrate levels are lower to the south and EC values are higher. It is
unclear whether the City's reclamation activities have impacted the water quality
to the south of City property.
12. The City's reclamation activities may be impacting the water quality to the east of
City property. However, there also appears to be a negative impact from
activities to the northeast and southeast. Without additional monitoring data to
the northeast and southeast to provide a better understanding of the
groundwater flow in the region, it is difficult to draw firm conclusions.
We look forward to meeting with you in the near future to discuss the ongoing
monitoring activities and to receive your input on the further implementation of the
recommendations included in the Groundwater Monitoring Status Report. We feel a
meeting with you and a representative from the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department would be beneficial.
