APPENDIX C - PLUGGING AND ABANDONMENT PLAN
Upon completion of injection activities the well will be abandoned
according to State and Federal regulations to ensure protection of
USDW sources.
The proposed plugging and abandonment plan is as follows:
1. Move in and rig up a workover/completion rig, remove the
wellhead, and install and activate BOPE. Run in hole and unseat
the packer at 3342 feet and pull the 4-1/2 inch Tubing string and
packer out of the well.
2. After sufficient fresh water has been injected to displace
all the wellbore fluids, check for fill to confirm the wellbore is
open to a depth of at least 100 feet below the 5 inch Liner hanger,
to about 3460 feet. If not, bail well down to that depth.
3. Run open-ended 2-3/8 inch tubing with 1200 feet of 1-1/4
inch 10 RND, EUE, N-80 tubing stringer to at least 3460 feet, but
as deep as possible down to a maximum depth of 4567 feet, ..and
cement through tubing a premium cement plug, 'by coordinating the
pumping of cement and gradual withdrawal of -tubing, until the
tubing has been pulled up to depth of 3160 feet, 200 feet above the
liner lap. A 280 cubic foot cement plug will be sufficient to fill
the well from 4567 feet to 3160 feet with almost 100% excess.
4. Wait on cement for 12 hours, run in hole with tubing tag
top of cement plug, recementing if needed until the plug is
confirmed to extend a minimum of 100 feet above the liner lap.
5. Pull up to a depth of 100 feet and set a . 400 cubic foot
(about 100% excess) cement plug to the surface.
6. After removing the BOPE and moving off the rig, cut off
the wellhead and casing at ground level and weld a steel plate at
least 3/8 inch thick to cap off the 7 inch Casing.
The above plugging and abandonment plan has been reasonably
estimated by NCPA to- be about $18, 300.
