COMPLETION AND TESTING OF
NCPA Lodi STIG #1 Injection Well
May 12 - June 9, 1993
1.0 SUMMARY
Drilling operations on NCPA Lodi STIG #1 injection well were completed on
May 9, 1993. The well was drilled to a total depth of 4,650 ft, with 7-in. casing cemented at
3,660 ft in the Nortonville Shale (the confining layer) and a 5-in. liner cemented through the
Domengine formation to a depth of 4,645 ft in the Capay Shale. During the period May 12 -
June 9, 1993, the following operations were carried out to complete and test the well.
• The 5-in. liner was perforated selectively in sands in the lower portion of the
Domengine formation. A net 222 ft of perforations were shot within the interval
4,234 - 49573 ft.
• The well was produced by nitrogen lift through coil tubing to clean out sand fill,
collect representative water samples from the Domengine formation and to
provide formation water for an injection test.
• A wire-wrapped screen liner was installed and gravel-packed inside the 5-in. liner
for sand control.
• An injection test was performed in conjunction with cased-hole logging to
quantify injectivity, determine the formation transmissivity, define the injection
profile and verify that there is no interzonal flow behind casing.
• A packer and 41/2-in. tubing were installed in the well and pressure tested.
Mesquite Group, Inc.
