•
• SUMMARY REVIEW
COMPREHENSIVE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY PROGRAM
The following document provides an overview description of the
• Occupational Health and Safety program currently being
implemented for the Engineering Division of American
Environmental Management Corporation (AEMC) .
I. SCOPE AND PURPOSE
•
AEMC is aggressively committed to providing a safe and
healthful work environment for all its employees. An
AEMC employee will never be asked or required to work in
an unsafe environment. The achievement of this goal
begins with a strong Corporate commitment to conducting
• all work activities in a safe, legal and prudent manner
at all times. No single aspect of AEMC operations or
activities supersedes the development and implementation
of thorough Health and Safety policies and procedures.
The inherent nature of hazardous waste management
• services activities is such that employees may come into
contact with potentially hazardous chemical, physical,
and/or biological working conditions. The Health and
Safety program is predicated on the mitigation of such
hazards through the use of sound industrial hygiene
practices including the anticipation and early
• recognition of potential hazards, proper field and
analytical evaluation and appropriate control of such
hazards via engineering, administrative and/or personal
protective measures .
• II. RESOURCES
The Health and Safety program is staffed by full time
Industrial Hygienists with regulatory agency and private
industry experience directly related to hazardous waste
management services activities. A Certified Hazardous
• Materials Manager and a Certified Industrial Hygienist
are part of this staff.
•
•
