Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Attention: Mr. Steven Schneider, RENS
Subject: Del Monte - 2716 East Miner tank investigation z
Dear Steve:
CH2M HILL performed a subsurface soil investigation between June 4 and .Tune
+ 13 at the Del Monte property located at 2716 East Miner Avenue, Stockton,
California. The soil investigation occurred in the vicinity of a former buried 500-
gallon gasoline tank and a suspected 500-gallon diesel fuel tank.
1
Seven soil borings were 'sampled as described in the Workplan. The soil from the
borings consisted of predominantly silts and silty sands. Soil samples collected
from the borings were analyzed for BTEX, TPH-Gas or TPH-Diesel, and lead.
The analytical results for BTEX, TPH-Gas, and TPH-Diesel are shown on the
attached tables. All lead results were within background soil levels, typically less
than 10 mg/kg.
The results of the soil analyses were evaluated using the Leaking Underground
Fuel Tank (LUFC) Field Manual, and the Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommen-
dations for Preliminary Evaluation and Investigation of Underground Tank Sites.
Based on this evaluation, a groundwater monitoring well does not appear to be
required.
Using the LUFT Manual Leaching Potential Analysis for Gasoline and Diesel
1 of the LUFF Manual), a worksheet score of 39 points was obtained for
_.
10
the East Miner Tank Site. This score in icdtes that aTPH-Gas 1Cvel of up to
mg/kg"can be left in place without threatening ground water". The highest TPH-
Gas concentration found during the soil investigation was 3.6 mg/kg.
CN_%1 Hi1C San Frcrnci5co Otfice 6425 Chnsfie Avenue.Suite 5)9 -715,652.242'6
Emery 5•iNe.CA 94008 rok 475, 2 0482
