The analyses
will be carried out by CH2M HILL's iaboratory in Redding, California. This laboratory
is certified by the State of California to conduct the analyses specified in this work plan.
Analytical parameters to be analyzed are based on the requirements of the Tri-Region-
al Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary Evaluation and Investigation of Un-
derground Tank Site manual.
rs fisted in Table 3-1. Groudwater sampler
Samples will be analyzed for the paramete
will be analyzed for fecal coliform only if monitoring well MW-EMG-1 is within 50
feet of a sanitary sewer line. Sample container preservation and holding time require-
ments are also shown in Table 3-1. As samples are collected in the appropriate con-
tainers and labeled, the containers will be placed in ziplock bags and placed in an ice-
ackag
filled chest or cooler.
to reducater sample
lchances of battle pbreakage5e Ice fy with or blue ilher bub
ce will be
ble wrap o
placed on top of the samples.
All appropriate sample documentation will be places: in a ziplock bag and taped to the
inside lid of the cooler. The cooler will then be seaied with custody seals and strapping
tape. Coolers will be couriered by the CH2NI HILL laboratory or shipped via over-
night courier (Federal Express or Greyhound) to the analytical laboratory.
3.4 DATA REVIEW AND ANALYSIS
Data for all parameters will undergo two levels of review and validation: by the CH2M
HILL Laboratory and by CH2M HILL. Data will be reviewed according to the guide-
r lines outlined b--low and described in detail in section 4.0. Data will be reviewed with
regard to the following:
• Analytical methodology 0Detection limits
• Blanks for contamination
Accuracy and precision
The review process includes flagging data with qualifiers. Commonly used qualifiers
include:
J = Estimated, usable for limited purposes. The data are qualitatively, but
not quantitatively, acceptable.
R = Refected, unusable. The data are qualitatively and quantitatively unac-
ceptable.
U = Undetected. The result is undetected at the instrument detection level
(IDL).. The data are acceptable. _..._. .. .._
Sr031605\W Pk003.51
3-b
