SITE CHARACTERISTICS <br /> A. Site Description and Overview of Planned Activities <br /> The site is adjacent to the outside west wall of <br /> Building 34. The job consists of two underground <br /> - tanks. The first tank is a 500-gallon gasoline tank <br /> r which was removed in 1985. The second tank is a 500- <br /> gallon diesel tank which was identified on a 1983 <br /> map. The existence of the diesel tank is to be <br /> determined during the field investigation. <br /> The site is flat and covered with six inches of <br /> concrete. The property is surrounded by a chainlink <br /> fence. An access gate is located along East Miner <br /> Avenue. <br /> Del Monte operations that occur in the vicinity of <br /> the site include loading products from Building 34 to <br /> delivery trucks. <br /> Activities planned at the site include: <br /> Geophysical Survey (Ground Penetrating Radar) <br /> • A soil-gas survey <br /> • Drilling six 40-feet deep soil borings; and <br /> collecting soil samples <br />
