GROUNDWATER MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION
OVERHEAD DOOR CORPORATION
1220 E. VICTOR ROAD
LODI , CA
INTRODUCTION
This report presents the results of a subsurface investigation
and construction of one groundwater monitoring well at Lodi
Overhead Door Corporation located in Lodi, California. One soil
boring was drilled and a groundwater monitoring well was
installed to further evaluate the subsurface soil and ground-
water conditions at the site.
The Dallas Corporation, Lodi Overhead Door facility is located at
1220 E. Victor Road, Lodi, California, also referred to as the NW
1/4, SE 1/4, of Section 6, T3N, R7E, MDB&M. The site consists of
approximately 9 acres and is situated as indicated on Figure 1.
FIELD INVESTIGATION
The field work consisted of drilling one (1) exploratory boring
extending to a depth of 65 feet below the ground surface using an
eight ( 8) inch, nominal diameter, continuous flight hollow stem
auger and the installation of a two inch diameter open standpipe
piezometer monitoring well (identified as Monitoring Well #5) .
The monitoring well was installed down-gradient from the former
surface impoundment at the location indicated on Figure 1. The
drilling, soil sampling, logging, and well construction was
performed on June 1, 1989 under the observation of Mr. Bob
Niblack of the Central Valley Region, California Regional Water
Quality Control Board.
Soil samples were obtained at five (5) foot intervals during
drilling through the use of a split-barrel sampler which was
advanced into the undisturbed soil by a 140 pound hammer
repeatedly falling 30 inches. Pre-cleaned stainless steel liners
were placed in the sampler to retain the soil. The blow counts
necessary to advance the sampler were recorded for each 6-inch
interval. Drilling and sampling equipment was thoroughly steam
cleaned before drilling to prevent the introduction of off-site
contamination. The sampling equipment was cleaned between
samples by washing and rinsing in a hot water bath.
BSK
1 — &Assoc ates
y
