J. H. KLEINFELDER & ASSOCI•ES •
. ' 2 BACKGROUND
The 0/LDC facility is located at 1220 E. Victor Road, Lodi, California,
' (see Plate 1) . The facility is owned by the Dallas Corporation and is
operated as a galvanized steel door manufacturing plant. Historically,
various plant waste materials have been discharged to an onsite SI which
has acted as a settling basin and evaporation pond.
' Closure of the SI is scheduled for the fall of 1987. A closure plan was
submitted to the DOHS in December 1986. This work plan presents
information designed to supplement the closure plan. Data obtained during
this study will be used to determine site specific clean up levels. these
clean up levels will be used to verify clean closure of the SI in lieu of
the methodology proposed in the closure plan.
Soil samples will be obtained from three onsite soil borings. The soil
' boring locations were selected by DOHS and RWQCB personnel and are
positioned in areas far removed from potential affects of the SI (see
' Plate 2) . Selected soil samples will be assessed for various chemical and
physical characteristics. The findings of this study will be utilized
' during SI closure and development of the Hydrogeology Assessment Report
(HAR).
51-87-413 2
