1
Golden Eagle Aviation/Lodi Airport -2- 24 July 2018
23987 Highway 99
Acampo, San Joaquin County
SGM proposes to use a shroud over the sampling equipment during soil gas sample collection,
and to quantify the concentration of leak detection compound [isopropyl alcohol (IPA)] under the
shroud.
Central Valley Water Board staff concurs with the proposed scope of work with the following
conditions:
1. While the existing monitoring wells are dry, SGM anticipates that groundwater water will
be encountered at approximately 95 feet bgs. However, SGM does not specifically
indicate the anticipated installed depth of the well screen. As such, Central Valley Water
Board staff request that, while the actual installed depth of the well screen may vary
based on encountered subsurface conditions, the well screen should be installed so that
approximately 5 feet are above and approximately 10 feet are below the static water
level.
2. By 26 October 2018, please submit an Assessment Report which details the completion
of the above scope of work and the resultant findings. In the report, please provide an
evaluation of the data, including comparison of under-shroud leak detection compound
concentrations to those in the corresponding collected samples. Please also include
recommendations for additional work if needed.
3. Central Valley Water Board staff is aware that records requests from state agencies can
take time. As such, please submit a Sensitive Receptor Survey within 60-days of
receipt of all requested records. Please notify Central Valley Water Board staff via email
upon receipt of all requested records.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding comments in this letter please contact the
undersigned at (916) 464-4615 or by email at alan buehler(awaterboards.ca.aov.
Alan M.
