(1) Any opening in the perimeter Protective Barrier that is less than or equal to three (3) <br /> inches shall require a minimum 12-inch setback from the Electrified Security Fence (IEC <br /> 60335-2-76 Standard). <br /> (2) Any—npenirrg in the perimeter Protective Barrier that is greater than three (3) inches shall <br /> require a minimum 36-inch setback-from the electrified security fence or the addition of <br /> an approved mesh barrier with-openings not to exceed three (3) inches. <br /> (3) When abutting existing-or planned residential zones, or parcels with residential <br /> structures,-perimeter Protective Barriers consisting of a minimum 6-footnigh solid wood <br /> or block wail shall require-a minimum 12-inch setback-from an Electrified Security Fence. <br /> Any other Protective Barrier is required to.have.an approved mesh installed as a <br /> secondary protective barrier, be at-least 6-feet high,and a minimum 12-inch setback <br /> from-an Electrified Security Fence. <br /> (f) -Before the Electrified Security Fence is electrified, a Knox box will be installed and the security <br /> fence will be inspected by the Fire Department. The Knox box shall-be fully operational at all <br /> times that the Electrified Security Fence is operational. If at any time the Knox box isnot fully <br /> operational-then the Electrified Security Fence cannot be activated. <br /> (g} Uses and Locations. <br /> (1)-Unless specifically designated in this subsection Electrified Security Fences shall-not-be <br /> permitted in any district. <br /> (2) Electrified Security Fences shall be authorized in I-W, I-P, f-L,.-;-G, AG-AL, AU and ARM <br /> -zones. <br /> (3) Electrified Security Fences g all he authorized in the CC & CG zones, but only for the <br /> following-Land Uses (Table 9-405_2): <br /> (A.)-Auction Sales (Indoor, Outdoor),Automotive Sales and Services (Automotive <br /> Rentals, Automotive Repairs [Light/Heavy],Automotive-Sales, Operable Vehicle <br /> Storage, Parking), Construction Sales, Construction-Services (Light), Custom <br /> -Manufacturing, Equipment Sales& Repair(Farm Machinery [Sales], Leisure), <br /> Nursery Sales &Services (Wholesale, Landscaping Services), Personal-Storage, <br /> Transportation Services, Marinas, Truck Sales and-Services (Sales), l rtility-Services <br /> (Minor, Major), Wholesaling &-Distribution (Light), and Communication Services. <br /> (B)-Or, uses determined by the Director of Community Development to be similar to the <br /> uses-described in subsection (i)(c)(1). <br /> (h) Permits. <br /> (1) Director's Determination and a Building-Permit are required for Electrified Security <br /> Fences in all CC and CG zoning districts. <br /> (2) I-W, I-P, I-L, I-G, AG, AL, AU and ARM Zoning Districts will require a Building Permit for <br /> fences exceeding seven-feet in height. <br /> (3) C-RS, C-X zoning districts will require Director review pursuant to subsection 9-1022.6. <br />
