Mathews Parkway, #4 (916) 939-7550 <br /> El Dorado Hills, California 95762 Fax (916) 939-7570 <br /> June 4, 1992 <br /> Mr Kenneth R Earnest <br /> Ultramar Inc <br /> 525 West Third Street <br /> Hanford, California 93232 ULT05 01 <br /> Subject Soil and Ground Water Investigation--Beacon Station No 494 <br /> 2185 East Fremont Street, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Earnest: <br /> Acton • Mickelson • van Dam, Inc (AMV), has been authorized to conduct an investigation of soil and <br /> ground water conditions at Beacon Station No 494 Iocated at 2185 East Fremont Street, Stockton, San <br /> Joaquin County, California (Figure 1) This letter summarizes the results of soil boring, ground water <br /> �I monitoring well installation, and soil and ground water sampling performed at the site on April 16 and <br /> 17, 1992 <br /> Scope of Work <br /> The work included advancing three 10-inch-diameter sod borings to a depth of approximately 83 feet <br /> below grade and completing each of these borings as a 4-inch-diameter monitoring well (MW-1, MW-2, <br /> and MW-3) and two 8-inch-diameter soil borings to approximate depths of 30 and 20 feet below grade <br /> (B-1 and B-2, respectively) Monitoring well and soil boring locations are illustrated on Figure 2 <br /> Methods used to drill and sample the soil borings are described in Enclosure A Soil boring logs <br /> containing detailed descriptions of soil characteristics are included in Enclosure B <br /> Selected soil samples were submitted for laboratory analysis of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and <br /> xylenes (BTEX), total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) and total petroleum hydrocarbons as <br /> diesel (TPHd) Analytical procedures conformed to U S Environmental Protection Agency-(EPA) and <br /> California Department of Health Services (DHS) approved methods <br /> Ground water monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3 were constructed of 4-inch-diameter,Schedule <br /> 40 PVC casing Details of monitoring well construction are contained in Enclosure C The monitoring <br /> wells were developed, purged, and sampled ii accordance with methods outlined to Enclosure A A <br /> ground water sample from each well was submitted for laboratory analysis of BTEX, TPHg, and TPHd <br /> In accordance with the requirements of San Joaquin County, a ground water sample was also collected <br /> from monitoring well MW-1 for fecal coliform <br />
