(AMV), has been authorized to continue quarterly
monitoring of ground water conditions at Beacon Station #494, located at 2185 Fremont Street,
Stockton, San Joaquin County, California (Figures 1 and 2). This letter report summarizes the
!! results of ground water sampling conducted on March 25, 1994, during the first quarter of 1994.
The procedures used to purge and sample monitoring wells and measure water levels are
described in Enclosure A.
Ground Water Level Measurements, Hydraulic Gradient, and Flow Direction
Depth to ground water was measured in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-5 on
March 25, 1994. Depth to ground water ranged from 66.98 (MW-4) to 68.90 (MW-5) feet
below the top of the respective monitoring well casings. Ground water elevation increased an
average of 4.62 feet between October 1993 and March 1994. Ground water level measurements
from the March 24, 1994, sampling event, as well as previous ground water depth
measurements, are presented in Table 1. Due to pump installation in monitoring well MW-3,
ground water level measurements were not made in this well. The pump installed in monitoring
well MW-3 is activated whenever water level reaches 75 feet below grade; therefore, as long
as the pump is operating, the depth to water in monitoring well MW-3 will always be 75 feet
or more. The minimum depth of 75.0 feet was used to infer the ground water elevation in
monitoring well MW-3 under pumping conditions, presented on Figure 3. Figure 3 illustrates
the inferred ground water flow on March 25, 1994. Figure 3 indicates that ground water
pumping from monitoring well MW-3 has influenced the direction of ground water flow towards
the center of the site.
1rpt002.maf
4511 Golden Foothill Parkway, Suite 1 (916)939-7550
El Dorado Hills, California 95762 Fax (916)939-7570
