1.
ACTON •
MICKELSON • -if
van DAM, INC.
Consulting Scientists, Engineers, and Geologists
February 23 1994 `
Mr. Kenneth Earnest
Ultramar Inc.
525 West Third Street
Hanford, California 93230 19005.08
Subject: Ground Water Monitoring Report, Fourth Quarter 1993
Beacon Station #494J told 3
2185 East Fremont Street, Stockton, California /p'y
Dear Mr. Earnest:
Acton • Mickelson • van Dam, Inc. (AMV), has been authorized to continue quarterly
. monitoring of ground water conditions at Beacon Station #494, located at 2185 Fremont Street,
Stockton, San Joaquin County, California (Figures 1 and 2). This letter report summarizes the
results of ground water sampling conducted on October 26, 1993, during the fourth quarter of
1993. The procedures used to purge and sample monitoring wells and measure water levels are
described in Enclosure A.
Ground Water Level Measurements, Hydraulic Gradient, and Flow Direction
Depth to ground water was measured in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-5 on October 26,
1993. Depth to ground water ranged from 71.54 (MW-4) to 73.49 (MW-5) feet below the top
of the respective monitoring well casings. Ground water level measurements from the
October 26, 1993, sampling event, as well as previous ground water depth measurements, are
presented in Table 1. Due to pump installation in monitoring well MW-3, ground water level
measurements were not made in this well. The pump installed in monitoring well MW-3 is
activated whenever water level reaches 75 feet below grade; therefore, as long as the pump is
operating, the depth to water in monitoring well MW-3 will always be 75 feet or more. The
minimum depth of 75.0 feet was used to infer the ground water elevation in monitoring well
MW-3 under pumping conditions, presented on Figure 3. Figure 3 illustrates the inferred
ground water flow on October 26, 1993. Figure 3 indicates that ground water pumping from
monitoring well MW-3 has influenced the direction of ground water flow towards the center of
the site.
1Tt045.mj
4511 Golden Foothill Parkway,Suite 1 (916)939-7550
El Dorado Hills,California 95762 Fax (916)939-7570
