11N E M PROBLEM ASSESSMENT REPORTIINT MM REMEDIAL ACTION PLAN -1$- <br /> Former Beacon Station No. 494, 2185 East Fremont Street <br /> Stockton, CA--AMV Project No. 19005.07 <br /> this well may not address the entire inferred plume of dissolved petroleum constituents. <br /> s. <br /> However, before proposing use of additional wells to recover ground water or other remedial. <br /> ' action, evaluation of the long-terns extent of the ground water capture zone is necessary. _ <br /> Analysis of ground water samples for chlorinated solvents currently indicates an off-site source <br /> ' of these constituents. During operation of monitoring well MW-3 as an extraction well, <br /> continued sampling of selected monitoring wells for chlorinated solvents will be conducted. If <br /> ' ground water sample analyses indicate that ground water pumping creates a local ground water <br /> flow gradient which results in migration of ground water containing these constituents onto the <br /> subject property, ground water pumping as a remedial technique will be re-evaluated. <br /> ' 8.3 Remediation System Permit Requirements and Project Schedule <br /> ' In addition to approval of this plan by San Joaquin County, a permit from the San Joaquin Air <br /> Pollution Control District (San Joaquin APCD) is necessary to construct and operate the vapor <br /> extraction system. In anticipation of implementing this remedial alternative, AMV submitted <br /> a permit application to the San Joaquin APCD in May of 1993. Receipt of authority to construct <br /> is expected during the first part of October 1993. Start-up of the vapor extraction system could <br /> be accomplished within 2 weeks of receipt of the authority to construct and approval of this plan. <br /> ' The discharge of ground water pumped from monitoring well MW-3 requires a permit from the <br /> City of Stockton, Department of Municipal Utilities. In anticipation of implementing this <br /> alternative, AMV submitted a permit application in May of 1993 and received approval in <br /> August 1993. Start-up of the pumping system could also be accomplished within 2 weeks of <br /> approval of this plan. <br /> 8.4 Additional Investigative Work <br /> Prior to selection of locations for additional ground water monitoring wells to delineate the <br /> extent of petroleum constituents in ground water, AMV recommends that at least two additional <br /> episodes of ground water monitoring be performed. Once the direction of flow is -reliably <br /> ' established, a minimum of two additional monitoring wells will be proposed. <br /> ' rptoos.i <br />
