(AMV), was authorized b Ultramar Inc.
y (Ultramar) to
prepare this report assessing the distribution of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and ground water
' underlying the property of former Beacon Station No. 494, located at 2185 East Fremont Street
in Stockton, San Joaquin County, California (site, Figure 1). The site is located on the
northwest corner of the intersection of "D" and Fremont Streets. Investigations conducted by
AMV and others at the subject property indicate the presence of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil
and ground water underlying the site. This report contains a summary of these investigations,
the results of aquifer and soil vapor extraction testing at the site, recommendations for interim
remedial action intended to remove petroleum hydrocarbons from soil and ground water
underlying the site, and recommendations for further investigative work to completely delineate
the extent of petroleum hydrocarbons.
2.0 GENERAL SITE INFORMATION
2.1 Current Site Use
The site is a closed retail gasoline station that is currently unoccupied. Below ground service
' station facilities were removed in March and April 1992. The surrounding area is a mix of
residential and commercial properties.
2.2 Regional Geology
The site is located in the upper San Joaquin Valley.
