(AMV), was authorized b Ultramar Inc. <br /> y (Ultramar) to <br /> prepare this report assessing the distribution of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and ground water <br /> ' underlying the property of former Beacon Station No. 494, located at 2185 East Fremont Street <br /> in Stockton, San Joaquin County, California (site, Figure 1). The site is located on the <br /> northwest corner of the intersection of "D" and Fremont Streets. Investigations conducted by <br /> AMV and others at the subject property indicate the presence of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil <br /> and ground water underlying the site. This report contains a summary of these investigations, <br /> the results of aquifer and soil vapor extraction testing at the site, recommendations for interim <br /> remedial action intended to remove petroleum hydrocarbons from soil and ground water <br /> underlying the site, and recommendations for further investigative work to completely delineate <br /> the extent of petroleum hydrocarbons. <br /> 2.0 GENERAL SITE INFORMATION <br /> 2.1 Current Site Use <br /> The site is a closed retail gasoline station that is currently unoccupied. Below ground service <br /> ' station facilities were removed in March and April 1992. The surrounding area is a mix of <br /> residential and commercial properties. <br /> 2.2 Regional Geology <br /> The site is located in the upper San Joaquin Valley. The site is immediately underlain by <br /> unconsolidated Quaternary alluvium deposited by the ancestral San Joaquin River and its <br /> tributaries. <br /> 1 <br /> rptoos•mi <br />
