HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC. <br /> Specialists in Site Assessment Remedial Testing Design and Operation <br /> March 4, 1996 RECEIVED <br /> Mr Kenneth Earnest MAR 1 t 1996 <br /> Ultramar, Inc ENV1R9NWr TTL 11R.4YH <br /> 525 W Third Street PERMIT/SERVICES <br /> Hanford, CA 93230 <br /> Subject UA Y GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT <br /> FFirst Quarter 1996 <br /> Orr <br /> Beacon Station No 494 <br /> 2185 East Fremont Street, Stockton, California <br /> Mr Earnest <br /> Horizon Environmental Inc (Horizon) has prepared this Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring <br /> Report which presents the results of the 1996 first quarter sampling for the above-referenced <br /> site (Figure 1) There are currently 5 groundwater monitoring wells, MW-1 through MW-5, <br /> at the site (Figure 2) In addition to quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling, <br /> Horizon had been performing sampling and operation and maintenance of a groundwater <br /> Sextraction system at the site prior to discontinuing operation of the system on September 7, <br /> 1995 Groundwater was discharged to the City of Stockton sanitary sewer system under a <br /> Municipal Utilities Department Regional Wastewater Control permit dated August 21, 1993 <br /> Prior to discontinuing operation of_the groundwater treatment system a total of <br /> approximately 313,101 gallons of groundwater had been pumped and discharged A soil- <br /> vapor extraction system was operating under the San Joaquin Unified Air Pollution Control <br /> District Permit to Operate No N-116-2-0 but was shut down in July 1995 <br /> Current Work <br /> Depth-to-groundwater measurements were obtained from wells MW-1 through MW-5 by <br /> Horizon on January 16 and Feb Static groundwater levels were measured <br /> from the top of casing (TOC) of each well and recorded to the nearest 0 01 foot The water <br /> level measurements were subtracted from reference elevations previously reported by other <br /> consultants to obtain mean-sea-level (MSL) elevations as shown on Table 1 Horizon field <br /> methods and procedures are presented in Attachment A Horizon field data sheets are <br /> presented in Attachment B ffistoncal water-level data reported by previous consultants are <br /> included in Attachment C <br /> 5011 Golden Foothill Parkway Suite 7 • EI Dorado Hills CA 95762 .
