ACTON •
MICKELSON • APR 2 01995
van DAM, INC. VIRONMENTAL HEALTH •
Consulting Scientists, Engineers, and Geologists
April 13, 1995
Mr Kenneth Farnest
Ultramar Inc
525 West Third Street
Hanford, California 93230 19005 0817
Subject Ground Water Monitoring Report, First Quarter 1995
Former Beacon Station #494, 2185 East Fremont Street, Stockton, California
Dear Mr Earnest
Acton • Mickelson • van Dam, Inc (AMV), has been authorizers to continue quarterly
monitoring of ground water conditions at former Beacon Station ##494, located at 2185 East
. Fremont Street, Stockton, San Joaquin County, California (Figures 1 and 2) This letter report •
summarizes the results of ground water sampling conducted on March 2, 1995, during the first
quarter of 1995 The procedures used to purge and sample monitoring wells and measure water
levels are described in Enclosure A
Ground Water Level Measurements, Hydraulic Gradient, and Flow Direction
Depth to ground water was measured in monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-4, and MW-5
on March 2, 1995 Depth to ground water ranged from 64 79 (MW-4) to 66 59 (MW-5) feed
below the top of the respective monitoring well casings Ground water elevations increased an
average of 3 30 feet between the last sampling event in November 1994 and March 1995
Ground water level measurements from the March 2, 1995 sampling event, as well as previous
ground water depth measurements, are presented in Table 1 Due to pump installation in
monitoring well MW-3, ground water level measurements were not made in this well The
pump installed in monitoring well MW-3 is activated whenever water level reaches 75 feet below
grade, therefore, as long as the pump is operating, the depth to water in monitoring well MW-3
will always be 75 feet or more The minimum depth of 75 0 feet was used to infer the ground
water elevation in monitoring well MW-3 under pumping conditions as represented on Figure
3 Figure 3 illustrates the inferred ground water flow pattern on March 2, 1995 Figure 3
indicates that ground water pumping from monitoring well MW-3 has influenced the local
direction of ground ter flow toward the center of the site
Irpt053 dmc
4511 Golden Foothill Parkma1, Suite 1 (916) 939-7550
Fl Dorado Hills,California 95762 Fax(916) 939-7570
