Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
Dear Ms. Mueller:
Thank you for the opportunity to review the Site Approval application to convert an existing
school/childcare facility site into an administrative office building complex. The project site is located at
9150 E. Street Route Highway 12,400 feet east of Bruella Road,Lodi (APN: 051-120-48).
We have circulated copies of the application and plans to our Traffic Operations/Safety Units for review.
Please include the following comments as conditions of approval for the project.
1. Caltrans requires Right of Way dedication to 15.24 meters (50 feet) from centerline for (SR) 12
fronting the subject property. However, pave out to 11.58 meters (38 feet) is not required at this time
(Any encroachments existing within the 50-foot right of way may remain at this time).
2. A Caltrans Encroachment Permit will be required for any work performed within the right of way.
Additional biological, archaeological or other environmental studies may be required asa part of the
encroachment permit application. A qualified professional must conduct any studies undertaken to
satisfy the Caltrans environmental review responsibilities. Ground disturbing activities to the site
prior to completion and/or approval of required environmental documents may effect Caltrans' ability
to issue a permit for the project. Furthermore, if engineering plans or drawings will be part of your
permit application, they must be prepared in metric units.
3. Caltrans has commercial standards for driveways serving a commercial use with direct access onto
state highways. Any new driveways as well as existing driveways shall be built or upgraded to
current state standards. Where applicable any sidewalks, curbs and gutters or ramps shall comply
with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The standards are available from Bill Lainascus, 576-6299.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss our comments in more detail, please contact Mike
Higgins, at(209)948-3996(email: mhiggins@dot.ca.gov).
Sincerely,
TOM DUMAS,Chief
Office of Intermodal Planning
609540.MJELLER.SI.ADOCARE INC
HIGGINS.Ir
