ULTRAMAR INC. <br /> EMERGENCY RESPONSE - EVACUATION PIAN <br /> In the event of a fire, hazardous material spill or an earthquake. . . <br /> Follow these steps immediately! <br /> 1. Turn off the pumps by pressing the "stop button' on the attendant's <br /> console. Should the flow of hydrocarbons continue or you can not use <br /> the console, turn off the emergency shutoff switch on the electrical <br /> panel. <br /> 2. Announce over the public address system: <br /> "There is a (fire) (dangerous spill) in the facility. Please turn <br /> off your engines and leave the station on foot. . .immediatelyl" <br /> If you do not have a public address system at your unit, yell the <br /> above statement. <br /> 3. Call help by dialing 9-1-1 and giving the following information. <br /> "There is a (fire) (dangerous spill) at Beacon Station #1-494 located <br /> at 2185 East Fremont, Stockton, California. " <br /> If anyone is trapped or needs attention, tell the answering <br /> dispatcher. Stay on the phone and be prepared to answer any <br /> questions concerning the situation. <br /> If the facility phone is not accessible, use the nearest public <br /> phone. <br /> 4. Look around to insure that all employees and customers have left the <br /> facility, particularly those in vehicles who may need assistance or <br /> did not hear the emergency announcement. Assist or direct assistance <br /> to any customer having difficulty in leaving the station area. <br /> 5. Secure the area to prevent any unnecessary vehicle entry. <br /> 6. Attend to the injured and direct medical response to them. <br /> 7. Attempt to extinguish any fire if you can do so safely. If the fire <br /> is small the fire extinguisher should be used to extinguish it. If <br /> the fire is large or spreading, or you determine that there is a <br /> potential danger of explosion or personal injury, do not attempt to <br /> y put out the fire with the fire extinguisher. If a fire or explosion <br /> requires you to evacuate the facility, lock the cash drawer and leave <br /> the facility. <br /> S. Attempt to contain any hazardous material spill utilizing an <br /> absorbent material. <br /> 9. Report to arriving emergency response personnel to provide them any <br /> information or assistance they may require. <br /> 10.
