Main St. <br /> Lodi CA 95220 <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) has reviewed the <br /> October 21, 1993 Geological Audit report of the soil boring conducted September 28, 1993 for the above <br /> referenced site. <br /> Samples from a depth of 20,30 and 35 feet from boring B3 were analyzed for Benzene,Toluene,Xylene,and <br /> Ethyl Benzene (BTX and E) and Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gas (TPHg). In addition, the 35 foot <br /> sample was analyzed for Total Lead and Ethylene Di-Bromide (EDB). <br /> Upon analysis of the samples, the following levels of contamination were confirmed: B3-35 BTX and E,Total <br /> Lead, and EDB Non Detectable; B3-30 BTX and E Non Detectable; B3-20 Benzene .092 ppm, Toluene .45 <br /> ppm,Ethyl Benzene.11 ppm,Total Xylenes.61 ppm and TPHg 5.7 ppm.The result of the laboratory analysis <br /> indicates that the vertical extent of contamination in this area does not exceed a depth of 30 feet. <br /> PHS/EHD concurs with the recommendation of your consultant,Geological Audit Services,Inc.,that the level <br /> of contamination at 20 feet exceeds the maximum allowable levels of contaminants to leave in place. <br /> Geological Audit Services, Inc. proposes to excavate the contaminated soil for on-site treatment or off-site <br /> disposal.
