At the direction of San Joaquin ;County PubW
Health;
He
replacement wells were drilled
in June 1992 andnsoil an)d water
samples from these wells were collected (see GeoAudit. Groundwater
Assessment Report dated 5 August 1992) . . Hydrocarbonrdontamination
was again detected in the water, and EHD directed that the wells be
monitored on a quarterly basis, beginning in September 199Z • Due to
scheduling difficulties, the r the could
udt°o be
performed '-.
until October. This report presents
monitoring.
PROCEDURES
The standing water was purged and water samples were 'collected from
the monitoring wells on 23 October
2 . rles orie
d from
MW-4 and Mw-5 after 5 to 6 gallons (appoximatel four casing .
pH and
volumes) of water had been removed and temperature,
conductivity of the groundwater had. stabilized (Appendix A) . These
parameters were measured at one gallon intervals 'using a Hydac
water, ranalyzer. Well MW-1: went dry after one gallon was bailed; it-
was allowed to recharge before saiupling: Purged water;was placed in :_
a DOT, approved 55-gallon drum and stored on-site.
Water'; samples were collected using a disposable plastic bailer. Two
40 mlEPA vials and one 1-liter bottle of water were collected from
each well and transmitted - in a chilled container to Alpha
Analytical laboratories in Ukiah. Each sample was ; analyzed for
total: petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH as gasoline) 'sand purgeable
aromatics (BTE&X) in accordance with the appropriate EPA methodat s..
Sample MW-1J10-23.92 was also analyzed for fecal coll.iform►
request of Ms. Mary .Meays of EHD,
FINDINGS
Casing elevations were surveyed relative to a temporary bench mark
with an assumed elevation of 100feet,e]ev
and m the depT ble groundwater
e
was measured with a Solinist water
N
