Avenue <br /> 'J Lodi, CA. <br /> ij <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located in a flat commercial area in central Lodi. <br /> - allon leaded gasoline tank, <br /> removal of <br /> a 554 <br /> 'n r g <br /> e 1 Follows <br /> {Figur ) 9 <br /> three soil borings were installed in August of 1987 and converted . <br /> to groundwater monitoring wells by Weiss Associates, Hydrocarbon <br /> contamination was detected in soil. and water samples, and a <br />'. : quarterly monitoring .program was subsequently initiated by Earth n <br /> Systems Environmental in November '199 1- 'At°`that' time;"two of the <br /> three wells were dry. At the direction of San Joaquin ;County Pub�W� <br /> Health; <br /> He <br /> replacement wells were drilled <br /> in June 1992 andnsoil an)d water <br /> samples from these wells were collected (see GeoAudit. Groundwater <br /> Assessment Report dated 5 August 1992) . . Hydrocarbonrdontamination <br /> was again detected in the water, and EHD directed that the wells be <br /> monitored on a quarterly basis, beginning in September 199Z • Due to <br /> scheduling difficulties, the r the could <br /> udt�°o be <br /> performed '-. <br /> until October. This report presents <br /> monitoring. <br /> PROCEDURES <br /> The standing water was purged and water samples were 'collected from <br /> the monitoring wells on 23 October <br /> 2 . rles orie <br /> d from <br /> MW-4 and Mw-5 after 5 to 6 gallons (appoximatel� four casing . <br /> pH and <br /> volumes) of water had been removed and temperature, <br /> conductivity of the groundwater had. stabilized (Appendix A) . These <br /> parameters were measured at one gallon intervals 'using a Hydac <br /> water,ranalyzer. Well MW-1: went dry after one gallon was bailed; it- <br /> was allowed to recharge before saiupling: Purged water;was placed in :_ <br /> a DOT, approved 55-gallon drum and stored on-site. <br /> Water'; samples were collected using a disposable plastic bailer. Two <br /> 40 mlEPA vials and one 1-liter bottle of water were collected from <br /> each well and transmitted - in a chilled container to Alpha <br /> Analytical laboratories in Ukiah. Each sample was ; analyzed for <br /> total: petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH as gasoline) 'sand purgeable <br /> aromatics (BTE&X) in accordance with the appropriate EPA methodat s.. <br /> Sample MW-1J10-23.92 was also analyzed for fecal coll.iform► <br /> request of Ms. Mary .Meays of EHD, <br /> FINDINGS <br /> Casing elevations were surveyed relative to a temporary bench mark <br /> with an assumed elevation of 100feet,e]ev <br /> and m the depT ble groundwater <br /> e <br /> was measured with a Solinist water <br /> N <br />
