Advanced
GeoEnv i ronmental Inc . -
18 May 1998
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0112
Ms. Margaret Lagorio
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY PHS-EHD
304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor
Stockton, CA 95202
Subject: Monitoring Well Destruction 1 Site Cleanup
ART & ARTISTS
204 East Lodi Avenue, Lodi, California
Dear Ms. Lagorio:
At the request of Ms. Mary Lehr, Advanced Geo Environmental, Inc. (AGE) has performed the
abandonment of eight ground water monitoring wells, two air sparbing «ells and one vapor
extraction well at and near 204 East Lodi Avenue in Lodi, California.
Well destruction was performed on 31 March and 01 April 1998 by Central Valley Drilling of
Rancho Cordova. Each well was filled with portland cement; pressure of approximately 20 psi ;vas
applied to each well for approximately three minutes to ensure grout penetration into the filter pack.
Monitoring well MW-I was over-drilled to a depth of approximately 45 feet below surface grade
(bsg); vapor extraction well VW-I was over-drilled to a depth of approximately 10 feet bsg. The
remaining wells were over-drilled to a depth of approximately 5 feet bsg. Monitoring wells MW-2
and MW-5, located in a dirt lot, were filled to approximately one foot bsg with neat cement. The top
foot was backfilled with native soil. The remaining wells were filled to surface grade with portland
cement. Abandonment procedures were observed by Mr. Harlin Knoll of your office.
On 05 May 1998, the former UST location was resurfaced. The underlying dirt was smoothed to a
depth of approximately four inches bsg. A concrete pad was then installed to match the surrounding
surface.
The City of Lodi Public Works Department was contacted regarding disposal of purge water to the
sanitary sewer system. On 13 May 1998, the remaining purge water stored on-site, approximately
110 gallons, was transported to a City of Lodi pumping station at 1331 South Ham Lane and
disposed.
" dcPholle (2101)) 467-1006 FAX ('01) .167-1 1 18
