INTRODUCTION
In accordance with a request from Ms. Mary Lehr,Advanced GeoEnviroamental, Inc. (AGE) has
prepared this Remediation Progress Report of field activities conducted at 204 East Lodi Avenue,
Lodi, California. Two soil probe borings(probings)were installed in February 1997. The location
of the site and surroundings are illustrated in Figure 1 - Locution lVlap_ Structures, well and boring
locations on the site are illustrated in Figure 2-Site Plan.
The above-mentioned activities were performed in accordance with guidelines for investigation of
underground storage tank (UST) sites established by the San Joaquin County - Public I fealth
Services - Environmental Health Division (FHS-EUD) and the Central Valley Regional Water
Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB).Background information is summarized in the April 1996 and
previous Quarterly Reports.
2.0. PROCEDURES
2.1, PROBING AND SAMPLING
On 26 February 1997, two soil probe borings (probings) were advanced at the site using AGEs
Geoprobe 5400 probing unit equipped with 1.25-inch diameter probe rods and a 2.15-inch diameter
soil sampling assembly. Probing P4 was advanced three feet north of MW-1; probing P5 was
advanced approximately 4 feet north of the former UST location, south of P2. Each probing was
advanced to a total depth of 55 feet below surface grade (bsg). Probing locations are shown on
Figure:1.
Soil sainples were collected at 5 foot intervals, beginning at 5 feet bsg, for the total depth of each
probing.. All samples were collected using the Geoprobe soil sampling assembly loaded with four
brass sleeves. After collection, the ends of the second brass sleeve were covered with aluminum
sheets, capped and sealed with tape. The sleeves were labeled, placed in a chilled container and
transported to Alpha Analytical Laboratories (AAL) under chain-of-custody.
All probing rods, sampling tools and sample liners used for sample collection were thoroughly rinsed
with clean water after washing with a solution of Alconox between each sampling run. All probings
were backfilled over their entire depth with Portland Cement.
