Samples were described using the Unified
Soil ' Classification System (Plate 3) ; descriptions of the
Fmaterials encountered are presented in the Logs of Borings
(Plates 4 through 6) .
Each sample was sealed with aluminum foil , plastic
caps , and airtight tape. The samples were labeled and
I . placed in iced storage for transport to our offices and then
to the analytical laboratory. A Chain of Custody Record was
initiated by the field geologist and accompanied the samples
to the laboratory. A copy of this record is presented in
Appendix A of this report .
Drill cuttings were placed temporarily on polyethylene
sheeting, and then used to backfill the borings .
