QUARTERLY REPORT
October 1995
Art & Artists
204 East Lodi Avenue
' Lodi, California
' 1.0. INTRODUCTION
In accordance with a request from Ms. Mary Lehr,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has
prepared this Quarterly Report of field activities conducted at 204 East Lodi Avenue in Lodi,
California. Quarterly ground water monitoring procedures were performed in October 1995 and
monitoring activities for the in-sitar soil vapor extraction and air sparging were conducted throughout
' the entire fourth quarter of 1995. The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1 -Location Map.
A plan of the site is illustrated in Figure 2 -Site Plan.
The monitoring activities were performed in accordance with guidelines for investigation of
underground storage tank(UST) sites established by the San Joaquin County - Public Health Services
- Environmental Health Division (PHS-EI-1D) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control
Board (CVRWQCB).
2.0. BACKGROUND
2.1. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL
A single 550-gallon UST was removed from the site in January 1987 by Thorpe Oil, Inc. The UST
' contained leaded gasoline, and was located inside the existing structure, near the building's southeast
comer(Figure 2). Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline(TPH-g) and volatile aromatic
hydrocarbons(benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylene: BTE&X)were detected in a soil sample
1 collected beneath the UST. Subsequently, the PHS-EHD required further investigation at the site to
determine, if ground water had been impacted by the release.
'
2.2. MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION
Between July 1987 and 1993, eight ground water monitoring wells were installed at the site. Analysis
of soil samples collected during the installation of the wells indicated that impacted soil was limited
to the vicinity of the former UST.
' 2.3. QUARTERLY GROUND WATER MONITORING
. Wells MW-1 through MW-3 were initially sampled and analyzed for TPH-g on 13 August 1987.
These wells were again sampled on 08 September 1987 and analyzed for BTE&X. No further
