' 12 June 1996 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 95-0112 <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br /> and transported under chain-of-custody to Alpha Analytical Laboratones, Inc (AAL) in Ukiah, <br /> Cahfornia Selected samples were analyzed for TPH-g and BTE&X in accordance with EPA methods <br /> 8015m and 8020, respectively Two samples were analyzed for total lead in accordance with EPA <br /> tmethod 6010 <br />' During drilling, auger returns and soil sample duplicates were monitored for the presence of organic <br /> vapors using a photo-ionization detector (PID Thermo Environmental 580A, 10 OeV, calibrated to <br /> isobutylene) <br /> 1 <br /> 3 2 LOGGING AND BORING COMPLETION <br />' Soil was described in accordance with the Unified Soil Classification System and recorded on Boring <br /> Logs (see Appendix A) Upon completion of soil sampling, each boring was backfilled to surface <br />' grade with Portland Cement <br /> 3 3 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES <br /> On 09 April 1996, a Sohnst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in each <br /> Iwell, except MW-2, relative to the top of each casing The relative ground water elevations were <br /> calculated by subtracting the ground water depth from the surveyed casing elevation (Table 2) <br /> After depth to ground water measurements on 09 April 1996, monitoring wells MW-1, MW-3, MW- <br /> 4, MW-5 and MW-7 were purged using pre-cleaned PVC bailers A minimum of three well volumes <br /> 1 <br /> of water were removed from wells MW-1, MW-4, MW-5 and MW-7 Due to poor recharge, three <br /> well volumes could not be removed from MW-3 In accordance with monitoring requirements for the <br /> site, MW-2, MW-6 and MW-8 were not sampled <br /> Ground water stabilization parameters were measured at regular intervals in each well using an TCM <br /> water analyzer Purged water was stored on-site in 55-gallon drums Stabilization data and field Iogs <br /> 1 are included in Appendix C <br /> 3 4 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> Water samples were collected from each purged well using new disposable bailers The samples were <br /> 1 transferred into 40-m1 EPA vials containing hydrochloric acid as a preservative and transported in a <br /> chilled container under chain-of-custody to AAL All samples were analyzed for TPH-g and for <br /> BTE&X in accordance with EPA methods 5030 and 602, respectively <br />
