WE_ STANISLAUS IRRIGATION 13L. RICT
116 E Street (209)894-3091
PO Box 37 WSID Fax(209)894-3383
Westley, CA 95387 wsidoffice@weststanislausid.org
September 11, 2019
Community Development Department
San Joaquin County
1810 E. Hazelton Ave.
Stockton,CA 95205
fit• ,0i
Subject: Project Application Number PA-1900153 (MS). '
To Whom It May Concern:
West Stanislaus Irrigation District (WSID) is in receipt of a notice for Project Application Number PA-
1900153 (MS)to subdivide existing parcel 255-150-28 into a 3.0-acre homesite parcel and designated
50.48-acre remainder.
WSID current serves irrigation water to parcel 255-150-28 off turnout(s)from the district's Lateral 4-
North. Splitting this parcel into the 3.0-acre homesite and the 50.48-acre Designated Remainder will
sever water service from WSID to the 3.0-acre homesite. If water service to the proposed homesite
parcel is desired, an easement will have to be obtained on the 50.48-acre Designated Remainder for
water service connecting to the existing turnout(s)off of Lateral 4-North that serves the land. A
drainage easement will also have to be acquired if drainage off the proposed homesite parcel is desired
and the easement must connect to existing drainage facility for those lands.
Assessments are currently assigned to current parcel 255-150-28. Acreage currently assessed and that
are located within the proposed homesite parcel will continue to be assessed in the future regardless if
water from WSID is used on those acres or not.
These lands are currently located within the West Stanislaus Irrigation Groundwater Sustainability
Agency(WSID GSA). In order to comply with the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act(SGMA),
the WSID GSA will begin implementing activities described in the Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP)
beginning in 2020. Land assessments are currently not assigned by the WSID GSA. In the event there
are future assessments by the WSID GSA, both the proposed homesite and the 50.48-acre designated
remainder will be assessed in the same manner as other lands located within the WSID GSA.
Please contact the office at(209)894-3091 if there are any questions in this regard and provide written
notice to the district when the parcel split is finalized.
Respectfully,
Robert Pierce, P.E.
General Manager
