CONCLUSIONS
Based on the method and assumptions described, the result of the nitrate loading
estimate indicates that the existing development on the Site should not cause a buildup
of nitrates in the aquifer above 10 mg/L. In a worst-case situation, the maximum
buildup of nitrates in the aquifer from the use of on-site septic systems is predicted to be
4.0 mg/L-N for Parcel 1 and 6.8 mg/L for Parcel 2.
The depth of ground water based on recent aquifer levels is estimated to be 105 to 108
feet below ground surface. The ground-water flow is to the east at a rate of
approximately six feet per mile for fall 2016; no rate could be calculated for spring 2016.
Maps of historical high water levels experienced in spring of 1983 and 1999 indicate a
depth to water beneath the Site of approximately 75 to 77 feet.
Live Oak collected a water sample from the domestic well on the Site on November 13,
2018. Nitrate was detected in the sample at a concentration of 7.2 mg/L-N. DBCP was
not detected in the sample.
Because of the favorable result of the nitrate loading calculation, no nitrate mitigation is
recommended at this time.
LOGE 1916 Page 11
