Former Busy Bee Cleaners
SVE/Sparging Pilot Test Work Plan - 2 - 10/13/04
4. Thirteen air sparge injection wells and 26-air sparge monitoring wells will be installed. Air
sparge testing will be conducted on the mid-plume and downgradient plume areas.
Comments
1. The proposed equipment will create noise. Noise levels should be monitored and measures
implemented, if necessary, to prevent noise levels that would unreasonably disturb the peace and
quiet of the neighborhood.
2. Warning signs and barricades should be erected to prevent pedestrian and motorist accidents
caused by open trenches and other project related hazards.
3. Public notice of Busy Bee's activities should be provided through the preparation and
distribution of a fact sheet, publication of a notice in the newspaper, and by making the work
plan available for public review.
Subject to Busy Bee's compliance with the above comments, Regional Board staff concurs with work
plan. One week prior to the beginning of the fieldwork, please provide Regional Board staff with notice
and a more detailed schedule of construction and testing activities.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (916) 464-4712, or by email at
austind@rb5s.swrcb.ca.gov.
DUNCAN AUSTIN, P.E.
Water Resources Control Engineer
cc: Harlin Knoll, San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Stockton
Phillip Goalwin, EzC Remediation, Bakersfield
Phil Smith, Treadwell and Rollo, San Francisco
Richard Prima, Director of Public Works, Lodi
