As was discussed between E2C, DTSC and the Board during a conference call on
September 11, 2002, we understand that E2C will revise the document to address the agencies'
comments and those provided to the DTSC and Board by the City of Lodi as follows:
1)The three proposed soil-sampling locations that are further than 50 feet from the building will
be revised to soil gas sampling. An additional soil gas sample, located on the north side of the
building, will be added if warranted based upon the results of the sampling on the south and west
sides of the building. We acknowledge Lodi's comment regarding angle drilling under the sewer
lateral and shed. Such sampling will be considered for a Phase 2 effort based upon the results of
Phase 1 investigations.
2)The southernmost soil gas sample location (as shown on Figure 2 of the Plan)will include
sampling at 10, 20, 30 and 40 feet.
3)E2C will generate a table to include, for each type of sample, the sample collection method,
preservation method and permissible holding times.
4)The table mentioned above will also include information regarding the frequency of collection
of field QA/QC samples (duplicate samples, equipment rinsate samples, trip blanks, etc.).
5) In conjunction with the implementation of the Work Plan, E2C (on behalf of the Former Busy
Bee Cleaners),will begin conducting community relations activities in accordance with 40 CFR
300.430(d) and DTSC public participation policy as described in the DTSC Public Participation
Manual.
