A4r, San Joaquin Valley
Unif ed Air Pollution Control District
October 26, 1998
1
Chandler Martin OCT , 7
San Joaquin County cpmfiU,7% 19 98
Community Development Department ts/De✓e"cArPi
Development Services Division el3teNt
1810 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
SUBJECT: MINOR SUBDIVISION TO CREATE A 0.3 ACRE COMMERCIAL LOT AND
REMAINDER PARCEL TO CONTAIN 24.5 ACRES
Dear Mr. Martin:
The San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District (District) has reviewed the
above referenced project. Based on the information provided, it appears that this project
will have a less-than-significant impact on the ambient air quality. Therefore, a negative
declaration is appropriate from an air quality perspective. However, the construction phase
of this project can generate emission from the movement of soil, use of heavy equipment,
bulk materials handling, asphalt paving and other related activities. As a result, this project
is subject to District Regulation VIII (Fugitive Dust Prohibitions). The purpose of Regulation
VIII is to reduce the amount of fine particulate matter (PM-10) entrained into the ambient air
from man-made sources. The attached Synopsis highlights many of the requirements
contained within Regulation VIII. The Synopsis is not meant to be all- inclusive, but it can
be a useful compliance aid in the field and office alike.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment. If you have any questions, please feel free to
contact me at (209) 545-7000.
Sincerely,
3.G0 f
Tracy Roe Bettencourt
Enviro-MT66ntal Planner APCD REF#980587
Northern Region
David L.
