Hammer Lane; Stockton
bear Laurie:
sc
Attached is a report containing the results of the additional site assessment
t' at the referenced site. The investigation was performed by our consultant '
Groundwater Technology and designed to determine the impact of the suspected
hydrocarbon release on the subsurface soil and ground water. This
1 investigation follows the removal of the underground storage tanks and initial
assessment at the site.
One soil boring was drilled through the backfill material of the old tankfield
and converted to a ground water monitoring well . Soil samples were collected
at five foot intervals and monitored with -3 photoionization (PID) meter.
Samples were selected based on their PID readings and analyzed for for total
1 petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) and benzene, toluene and xylene (BTX). Ground
water samples collected from the new monitoring well and the two monitoring a
wells installed during the initial site assessment were also analyzed for TPH H
and BTX.
No free productwas encountered during the investigation but, TPH and BTX
concentrations above the action levels were found in a Portion of
oil
samples and in the ground water samples. Ground water nalysis oftthe he swater
.`_ from the new monitoring well located higher concentration on of TPH and BTX'-than
in_the_existing, welIs.--This -indicates the source of any hydrocarbon release
was probably in the tankfield area
z i
rl
A DryfSfON OF EXXON CORPORA TION
a :5
t
Fi
r
