R _ <br /> m <br /> 1. INTRODUCTION <br /> 1.1. SCOPE <br /> At the request of EXXON Company, U.S.A. EA Engineering, Science, <br /> and Technology, Inc. (EA) conducted a Soil Vapor Contaminant <br /> Assessment (SVCA) at EXXON retail site 7-1050 in Stockton, <br /> California on 23 and 24 November and on 22 December 1987. <br /> Five existing monitoring wells have been gauged weekly from 30 <br /> October 1987 to present. This report describes the SVCA <br /> technique and reviews the results for the site. This report is <br /> intended to serve as a "Preliminary Report", as outlined by. the <br /> Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (Table 1) . <br /> r 1.2. SITE_SETTING AND .BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located on the northwest corner of W. Hammer Lane and <br /> Lower Sacramento Road, Stockton, California (Figure 1) . There <br /> are five existing on-site monitoring wells. The tanks, pump <br /> islands; associated piping, and buildings have all been removed, <br /> and the excavations filled and graded. Groundwater Technology, <br /> Inc'. has performed andsupervised work. at this site; including <br /> the well installations. The site is now being rented out for <br /> seasonal business such as Christmas trees and pumpkin patches by <br /> Tim Ambrose.Enterprises in Stockton. <br /> Land use in the immediate area is primarily commercial and <br /> residential (Figure 2) . A Shell service station lies across <br /> s <br /> - - Sacramento Road to the east. - -Aretail shopping center surrounds` <br /> 3 ti ' the back, side of rrhe former station to the north and west. <br /> r <br /> EXXON9:84L <br /> s, <br /> yF ; <br />
