On the basis
of the boring logs, the materials immediately underlying the site
consist predominantly of clays and sands, with lesser amounts of
silt, silty.,clay, and silty sand with increasing depth.
Two more monit orimg wells. were installed by GTI in May 1987, and ?
water samples were collected and analyzed from all five wells at j
that ti=ne. The resi;lts of those analyses are presented in Table }
2. Soil. samples were also collected from the newly drilled
borings/wellsnumbered 4 and 5, and those results are also
presented in 'Table 2.
Both thesoil and water samples collected in monitoring wells 4
i
and 5. contained effectively no hydrocarbons The water samples
of M541 and M[r73 did show elevated levels: 2.75 mg/h and 8.38 mg/L
f
total volatile hydrocarbons (TVH) , respectively.
Li
2.:2 SOIL ,VAPOR CONTAMINANT ASSESSMENT a
On 23 and .24 November 1987, EA conducted an SVCA survey at the
Stockton sit eep-.(approximately-20-feet) soil -gas--samples
were collected from:'six locations on-site (V1-V6, Figure 4) , and,,,
5
*.onitoring .well hea.dspace samples were taken from the five
monitoring wells.
