CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
From visual observations, there is no surface contamination. The probability of subsurface
contamination from pesticides can be considered low-to-medium, considering the environmental
fate data and soil type. Groundwater testing for nitrate and DBCP will be performed next month
to complete the requirements of the Soil Suitability Study. Therefore, at this point in time, no
corrective action is required within the boundaries of the subject property.
Although bottled water is consumed at the existing residence, we suggest the well water be tested
for a Multi-residue screen consisting of analysis for Dinitroanaline, Triazine, Organochlorine and
Organophosphates. This is a precautionary measure and in no way indicates or suggests these
chemicals occur in the underlying groundwater.
It is our opinion that contamination originating from the existing septic tank is unlikely.
Contamination from a tank is usually dependent upon the age and type of tank construction
material. The next time the tank is pumped out, the sewage contractor can check the integrity of
the tank.
Asbestos containing materials (ACM)testing from any portion of the existing buildings is
outside the scope of this investigation. If the existing buildings are ever demolished, testing for
ACMs should be done at that time.
LIMITATIONS
The purpose of this report is only to inform the Client and the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department of the environmental conditions as they currently exist at the
subject site and within the parameters established in the County Ordinances. Valley Ag
Research does not assume responsibility for the discovery and elimination of environmental
hazards. Compliance with submitted recommendations and/or suggestions in no way assures
mitigation or elimination of environmental concerns.
No statement can be made with scientific certainty regarding latent surface or subsurface
conditions which may have originated on-site, or off-site from various sources. Valley Ag
Research cannot represent the subject property, adjacent land or underlying groundwater free
from environmental hazards. The possibility always exists for contaminants to be placed or
migrate through the soil, surface water, groundwater or air at any point in time.
Respectfully submitted, sv r RON£ti.T
VALLEY AG WEARCH
No. 04675
x
Don Chesn , R.E.A. * Expires: •30
Registered Environmental/Assessor#4675
Agricultural Pest Control Advisor#6237 \
5
Vafley Aa Ppearck
