October 6, 2005
NOA Project Number: E05115A
13.1.6 Department of OV, Gas, and Geothermal Resources
The California Department of Oil,Gas,and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR)Wildcat map 61112 was
reviewed for evidence of oil or gas wells on or in the vicinity of the subject property. It appears that
one plugged and abandoned dry hole, the Coastal Oil&Gas Corp`Brovelli" 1,may be located on the
subject property. A second plugged and abandoned dry hole, the Sun Oil Co. "Shell-Brovelli" 1, is
located one-quarter mile north of the subject property.
Y/DOGGR was contacted for further information on the well which may be located on the subject
property. According to Pam Ceccarelli,Engineer, the well was drilled in 1987 and abandoned five days
later. Ms.Ceccarelli stated that the records for that well are currently unavailable because they are being
scanned.13
13.1.7 Site Reconnaissance
A visual reconnaissance of the subject property was conducted on October 4, 2005. Photographs of
the subject property are attached to this report as Appendix B. A site visit/assessment checklist is
attached to this report as Appendix D.
IThe subject property was observed to consist of a portion of Tracy Lake and Jahant Slough, surrounded
by open land and two patches of vineyard. The eastern end of the property consisted of open land with
uneven topography and many oak trees. The vineyard areas were observed at the central and western
portions of the property. A residential complex was observed at the western end of the property. The
complex appeared relatively new and was not closely inspected. A windmill and two water tanks were
observed near the center of the property. Due to the size and uneven topography of the eastern portion
of the subject property, visual inspection of the entire area was not possible.
I/ Surrounding properties were surveyed at the time of the site reconnaissance. To the north of the subject
property was a vineyard. Tracy Lake and open land lay to the west. A vineyard and two rural residences
lay to the south. A vineyard, lake, and shop building were observed to the east of the subject property.
An equipment storage area and several empty chemical containers were observed immediately to the
east of the eastern fence line of the northeastern portion of the subject property. An above-ground
diesel storage tank within secondary containment was observed near the shop building to the east of
the property.
12 California Department of Oil,Gas,and Geothermal Resources,2005,well map W5-3.
13 Personal Communication,October 6,2005.
7 -*44
