October 6, 2005
OA Project Number: E05115A
4.0 EVALUATION OF IDENTIFIED CONTAMINATION SOURCES
No evidence was found to indicate that agricultural chemicals were applied inappropriately to the
property or vicinity. Nevertheless,it is possible that chemical residues may be present on the property.
✓Plugged and abandoned oil or gas wells may be the sites of contamination if appropriate practices were
not employed during their construction and abandonment. In this case, no specific information
regarding the well was identified.
/Due to the nature of the materials stored to the east of the subject property,no impact to the property
/from those items is anticipated at this time.
✓ If water wells are not properly operated and maintained, they can serve as contamination conduits to
groundwater. Septic systems may be used for inappropriate disposal of hazardous substances. In this
case, there is no evidence to suggest that wells or septic systems may be contaminant pathways on the
subject property or vicinity.
✓ 5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Given the historical uses of agricultural chemicals and petroleum products on the subject property,
meaningful conclusions regarding the presence or extent of such material cannot be determined without
soil sampling and analysis.
#.1 Should the residents of the subject property be interested in determining the quality of their drinking
water,EHD should be contacted for direction regarding the potential for impacts to groundwater from
the agricultural history of the property and vicinity.
✓ If construction is to take place in the future in the vicinity of the plugged and abandoned dry hole gas
well on the subject property, the Department of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources should be
contacted for direction before proceeding.
The equipment storage area east of the subject property should be periodically monitored for the storage
of hazardous materials with the potential to impact the subject property.
6.0 LIMITATIONS
This report was compiled as a Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report for the subject property.
This report contains information and data provided to NOA by several sources. NOA in no way
warrants the accuracy or completeness of the information provided to this investigation by those
sources.
It should be noted that when an environmental assessment is completed without sample collection and
quantitative analysis of soil and groundwater beneath the site,as in this study,no statement of scientific
9 "00"A
