In general, uncemented coarse-grained soil has a greater
potential for percolation than fine-grained or cemented soil.
1.6 Percolation Test Information
1.6.1 Percolation Test Locations
Percolation tests were conducted near the southern central portion of the site. Refer to Section
1.5.1 and Appendix A, Exhibit 2.
1.6.2 Number of Percolation Tests
A shallow percolation test 131 was conducted on October 25, 2018 at a depth of 3.5 feet bgs. A
deep percolation test B2 was conducted on November 1, 2018 at a depth of 25.0 feet bgs.
1.6.3 Boring Preparation and Presaturation
The shallow soil boring 61 was excavated to a depth of 3.5 feet bgs on October 24, 2018 using a
4.0-inch diameter hand auger. Approximately six inches of"pea gravel"was placed in the bottom
of the open boring. A 2.0-inch diameter PVC pipe with perforations towards the bottom was
installed on top of the gravel. Pre-saturation consisted of a water column approximately 1 foot
over gravel on the same day.
Responsive ■ Resourceful ■ Reliable 12
