Appendix A Site Closure Request July 2,2010
Speedy Foods-Stoekton Page 5 of 13
In addition to the well logs received from DWR, Ground Zero personnel conducted a field
reconnaissance of observed addresses on the streets nearest the subject site. Through telephone
interviews conducted by Ground Zero personnel, we have confirmed that neither the City of Stockton,
San Joaquin County, nor California Water Service provide potable water to the addresses north-
northeast of the Site.
• A number of known water supply wells are located downgradient (northeast) of the subject site.
• Of the known downgradient water supply wells (from DWR logs), all but one are screened (or
open hole)below 137 feet below the ground surface.
• The one well with the intake shallower than 137 feet (open hole from 108-180 feet) is located
approximately 2,000 feet downgradient of the subject site.
• The nearest addresses downgradient of the site with suspected water supply wells are located
approximately 325 feet north (8338 N. Hwy 99) and 525 feet northeast (4508 Gnekow Road) of
the subject site.
4.0 Water Supply Well Map
• Figure 2: Water Supply Wells—discovered during the DWR well log review
• Figure 3: Water Supply Wells—directly downgradient and adjacent to the site
Details of the water supply wells found during the DWR well log review are shown on Figure 2 and
are summarized in Table 1. Water supply well testing results for the wells shown in Figure 3 are
summarized in Table 2.
5.0 Scaled Maps
The figures listed below provide perspective of site conditions past and present as well as show the
locations of investigation borings and monitoring wells.
• Figure 4: Site Plan: Shows site related structures as well as the locations of the former USTs,
monitoring/extraction wells, and remediation equipment
• Figure 5: Exploded Site Plan: Shows the locations of the former USTs, excavation samples,
monitoring/extraction wells in and near the parking area, soil borings, CPT borings,
and confirmation borings
• Figure 6: Site Plan: Shows the A-A' and B-B' lines of section and estimated area of total
petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline(TPHg)soil contamination
• Figure 6A: Cross-Section A-A': Shows lateral and vertical extent of TPHg soil and groundwater
contamination
• Figure 613: Cross-Section B-B': Shows lateral and vertical extent of TPHg soil and groundwater
contamination
• Figure 7: Site Plan: Shows the A-A' and B-B' lines of section and estimated area of methyl
tert-butyl ether(MTBE)soil contamination
• Figure 7A: Cross-Section A-A': Shows lateral and vertical extent of MTBE soil and
groundwater contamination
