JAHANT ROAD <br />ACAMPO, CALIFORNIA <br />TERRACON PROJECT NUMBER: NA197009 <br />Our office was contacted by Mr. Bert Azevedo to conduct a Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study <br />(SS/NLS) for the property at 12110 E. Jahant Road, Acampo, California, San Joaquin County <br />(SJC) Community Development Department Application No. PA1800050. The formatting of this <br />report has been designed to follow, to the greatest degree possible, San Joaquin County, <br />Environmental Health Department (EHD) Soil Suitability Study Requirements Checklist, dated <br />September 25, 2007 and Nitrate Loading Study Requirements Checklist, dated July 14, 2003. <br />1.0 SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br />1.1 Introduction and Development <br />The Soil Suitability Study (SSS) was conducted to determine whether site soils are suitable for <br />septic system usage. The study was performed according to the requirements of Section 9- <br />1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. A major element of the field work <br />included conducting percolation tests that meet absorption rates as specified by EHD. A review <br />of published soil information, geologic maps, and groundwater information was also performed. <br />1.1.1 Site Description <br />The site consists of an approximately 4.97-acre tract of land located at 12110 E. Jahant Road, <br />Acampo, California, San Joaquin County, California, Assessor Parcel Number (APN) 007-280- <br />46. The northern portion of the site is improved with an approximately 2,628 square foot (SF), <br />four bedroom, 2.5 bathroom residence, septic system, domestic groundwater well, utilities,' <br />swimming pool, and landscaping. An approximately 4,200 SF agricultural building used for farm <br />services equipment repair and a gravel paved equipment yard are located on the central portion <br />of the site. The southern portion of the site is currently used for stormwater retention. <br />According to the San Joaquin County District Viewer the site is zoned AL-5. Based on a review <br />of the San Joaquin County Community Development Department website, the AL Zone is <br />intended to preserve areas that contain existing concentrations of small-scale agricultural <br />operations and dwellings for agricultural activities. <br />Responsive Resourceful Reliable 3
