SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY
Introduction
Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Nick Jones of Ford
Construction Company, Inc. to conduct a Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading
Study for the proposed Ford Construction Company facility located at 12505 East
Brandt Road, Lockeford, California (Plate 1).
The Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study are combined under this report
cover and presented as two sections of this report. The formatting of the report has
been designed to follow the recommendations of the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil Suitability Study
Requirements Checklist and Nitrate Loading Study Requirements Checklist.
The Soil Suitability Study was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for
use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of
Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code.
Proposed Development
The proposed project involves a truck parking facility for a maximum of 10 trucks and 20
trailers. The application includes a materials and equipment storage yard and the
construction of a 2,000-square foot office.
Mr. Jones further noted that he plans to fence the Site into four quadrants (existing Lot
A and proposed Lot B each divided in two), with the northwest quadrant to be used by
Ford Construction. In that quadrant, one shop currently exists, and a second shop
could be constructed. Mr. Jones indicated that an office would be constructed on the
southeast quadrant as well, for use by another company. The three quadrants not used
by Ford would be leased out to one or more other businesses. A new irrigation pond is
planned for the northeast corner of the Site. Mr. Jones plans to place a septic system
between the two storm ponds on the north side of the Site; the various structures on the
Site will have individual septic tanks but will all feed into this leach field.
A site plan is included as Plate 2. The site plan depicts only certain elements of the
project discussed above.
Site Description
The Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) for the Site is 051-320-10. The Site is 25.12
acres (gross) in size. The County project application number is PA-1800204 (SA). The
Site is located at 12505 East Brandt Road, Lockeford.
LOGE 1848 Page 1
