Hazelton Ave
Stockton, CA 95201
RE: AB 52 Consultation Request for the Proposed Kludt Propane Project(PA-1900253 (SA),
Victor, CA
Dear Giuseppe Sanfilippo,
The United Auburn Indian Community of the Auburn Rancheria(UAIC) received a letter from
the County of San Joaquin dated 11/6/2019, providing an opportunity to consult under AB 52 for
the Proposed Kludt Propane Project in Victor, California. The UAIC's Tribal Historic
Preservation Department determined that there are no known Tribal Cultural Resources (TCRs)
in the project area and that there is a low potential for unknown or buried TCR to occur.
The UAIC does not wish to initiate consultation under AB 52 at this time, but would like to
provide preferred mitigation measures as they relate to TCRs and to receive copies of the drafted
environmental technical documents. Should the project change in material ways, we request to
be informed of those changes so that we may reassess the need to consult.
Finally, please contact us if you discover any cultural resources in the project area. If it is
determined that they area TCRs, tribal values must be included in evaluating the significance of
these resources.
Thank you again for taking these matters into consideration, and for involving the UAIC in the
planning process. We look forward to reviewing the documents requested. Please contact Anna
M. Starkey, Cultural Regulatory Specialist, at (916) 251-1565 or email at
astarkey@auburnrancheria.com if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Gene Whitehouse,
Chairman
CC: Matthew Moore, Tribal Historic Preservation Officer
Tribal Office 10720 Indian Hill Road Auburn, CA 95603 (530)883-2390 FAX(530)883-2380
