INTRODUCTION
Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Brittany Farris to
conduct a Nitrate Loading Study for her property located on Carrolton Road, Ripon,
California. Ms. Farris indicated that she plans to build a three-bedroom house on the
Site.
Because of concerns of nitrate leaching into ground water from septic systems, a nitrate
loading analysis was required by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department for approval of the project. The study estimates the potential concentration
of percolating effluent produced by the proposed project over the long term. Where
percolating effluent leaches into the ground, ground-water quality may be impacted to
some degree should the effluent reach the aquifer.
The formatting of the report has been designed to follow the recommendations of the
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department as described in its Nitrate
Loading Study Requirements Checklist.
Site Description
The Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) for the Site is 245-070-89. The parcel is 1.5
acres in size, and is located on Carrolton Road, Ripon, California (Plate 1).
The Site is currently vacant (Plate 2). No wells are located on the Site; Ms. Farris
indicated that a new well will be drilled to serve the proposed house.
No septic systems are located on the Site; Ms. Farris indicated that a new septic system
will be installed to serve the proposed house.
LOGE 1844 Page 1
