three wells, at concentrations ranging from 2.6 to 25.2 mg/L-NO3 (0.6 to 5.6 mg/L-N).
Only one of the wells had been tested for DBCP; no DBCP was detected. The
Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) set by the US EPA for nitrate as NO3 is 45 mg/L
(10 mg/L-N). The MCL for DBCP is 0.2 ug/L.
On-Site Wells
One domestic well is currently located on the Site.
Five well permits were identified for the Site from among the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department permit files:
• November 2001 permit for out-of-service well. The address listed is 5920 W.
Kingdon, a former address of the Site and several surrounding parcels that were
recently subdivided. It is unclear whether the well is located on the current Site.
• September 2002 permit for well destruction, 5920 W. Kingdon. This permit
appears to refer to the same well as the previous permit.
• November 2002 permit for new pump at domestic well, 5920 W. Kingdon. Based
on the sketch included, this well appears to be located north of the current Site.
• April 2004 permit for pump repair at irrigation well, 13950 N. Thornton. Based on
the sketch included, this well appears to be located west of the Site.
• May 2006 permit for pump replacement at irrigation well, 13950 N. Thornton.
Based on the sketch included, this well appears to be located north of the current
Site.
These permits have been attached to this report.
Water Sample
Live Oak collected a water sample from the domestic well on the Site on January 30,
2019. The sample was to be analyzed for nitrate and dibromochloropropane (DBCP)
per San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department policy.
As required by the laboratory, the sample was collected in a plastic container and two
glass vials for nitrate and DBCP analysis, respectively. A trip blank was also utilized.
The sample was placed on ice and transported under chain of custody to FGL
Environmental, Stockton.
Results of the water sample will be forwarded as soon as they become available.
LOGE 1903 Page 5
